Four hundred young Utah children with disabilities and special needs will be met by a new resource center full of excitement and possibility. Thanks to Kids On The Move (KOTM), with help from the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation, a satellite center was opened on in Lehi, Utah, Nov. 14 to serve northern Utah County. Gary Garrett, Nu Skin vice president of corporate relations and managing director of the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation, represented the Foundation at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

"Kids On The Move is a great organization and offers important services in our community that make a difference for special-needs children and their families," said Garrett. "Their work aligns with that of the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation-making the world a better place for children,"

Nu Skin Enterprises' headquarters are located in Provo, Utah, the county seat for Utah County. While the county is home to several growing industries and two large universities, there are still thousands of children living at or below the federal poverty level. Kids On The Move, a non-profit organization founded in 1986, provides assistance to low-income families of children who have disabilities or need special attention. The organization is partially supported by federal funding, but relies on other grants and generous donations to complete their total budget.

The new resource center will help children and their families in Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs and Lehi receive important early intervention programs and convenient access to classroom resources for parents. KOTM started when two women, each of whom had a child with Down syndrome, were shocked to discover there was no place in Utah County that could give their children a head start on learning. The organization now serves about 1,000 Utah County children between the ages of 0-3.
