Mary Thomas Tribal Education Center - British Columbia
The Nu Skin Force for Good and Seacology Foundations agreed to send a monetary donation to the Mary Thomas Tribal Education Center in British Columbia as a matching grant in 1999. The proper name of the center is the Kanoowhen T Wawh Cultural Centre. It is situated on Neskonlith lands at Salmon Arm, British Columbia, near the mouth of the Salmon River along the edge of the Shuswap Lake. The center serves first and foremost as a cultural and language resource center for the Neskonlith and other First Nations Peoples. It also provides facilities for meetings, conferences, public lectures, and art, dance, film, theatre, music and fashion exhibitions. Equally important, it is an educational facility for "hands-on" experiential learning for First Nations and other students at all age levels.
