Rose Education Foundation
Nu Skin's Force for Good Foundation donated funds to the Rose Education Foundation for student scholarships at the Rose Foundation High School in Guatemala. The Rose Education Foundation has taken a profound interest in the education of economically disadvantaged Guatemalan children since the Foundation's inception in 1997. Previously faced with the prospect of illiteracy, hundreds of children in Guatemala now receive an education at schools established by the foundation. With only modest libraries, consisting of as little as one bookshelf, the need for facilities and books is essential to the continued development of the children.

Previous projects include:

  • Donated funds to build a new library facility at a school in Patzicia, Guatemala in 2003

Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH)
The Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation donated funds to VOSH in December 2006 to provide general anesthesia for 100 children receiving eye surgeries in Guatemala in 2007.

Previous donations include:

  • Donated funds to help fund pediatric surgeries and eye glasses for children being treated at the Vincent Pescatore Eye Clinic in Guatemala in 2005
  • Provided funds for medical equipment for a new eye clinic in the Peten region of Guatemala in 2004
  • Provided donation to VOSH which resulted in 410 patient examination, 325 eyeglasses and $4,000 worth of medication was given to patients in 2001

Jungamals Vitamins
The Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation paid Nu Skin Enterprises for 3,000 units of Jungamals vitamins for use at the Guatemala Cradle School, enough vitamins for 250 children for an entire year. The company sold these Jungamals to the Foundation in 2000 at a discounted price.

Globus Medicus Project
In November 1997, the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation donated funds to the Chiquimula, Guatemala Hospital to be used for medical equipment to help surgically correct deformities such as cleft lips and palates suffered by many Guatemalan children. This donation was made through the Hirsche Smiles Foundation, a team of medical professionals who travel to Guatemala annually performing the critical surgeries. The equipment purchased for the foundation's use will remain in the hospital for subsequent surgical teams.

Hirsche Smiles Foundation
The Hirsche Smiles Foundation was started in 1990 by Blayne L. Hirsche, plastic and reconstructive surgeon and Michael Chandler, anesthesiologist, both affiliated with Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Provo, UT. Since that time, the program has expanded to include many additional volunteers who have provided surgical and dental care to hundreds of children in Guatemala and Mexico. Nu Skin's Force for Good Foundation donated funds in September 2004 to purchase a refurbished anesthesia monitor that will be used to anesthetize children safely in the countries visited by the Hirsche Smiles Foundation during their missions to provide cleft palate repair.
